The Right Decision Must Be Timely

When running a business, there are many decisions to be made at every point. I know that for a fact because I am running a few online businesses.

There can be decisions to be made; such as which web hosting is the best match for my business, who is the right person to hire, how much to budget for an ad campaign, etc. So many decisions every day.

And Lee Iacocca made a good point. In this quote, he said that the right decision must be made in a timely manner. And if the decision is delayed, and made too late, even if it is the right decision, it becomes a bad decision.

An Example of a Decision Made Too Late

Years ago, I joined an MLM (Multi Level Marketing) business, and tried to run it as a business. After all, that was their pitch; that by joining the MLM, we can start a business.

After years of trying, I began to realize that it really was not a business. The business still belonged to the MLM company. In the end, I became their free marketing service. And worse, I became a recruiter for the company, bringing people into the business.

During the years as I tried the business, I would review it every few months. There were times when I thought of making the decision to quit the MLM business. But, every time, I found myself giving another try.

Eventually, I did make the decision to leave the MLM business. But, by then I had lost a few thousands dollars. I then realized that I made the right decision, but I made it too late.
