What is Affiliate Bootcamp Course?

There is no refund for any cancellation. The reason is stated on the FAQ section of their website. According to what is written there, it is because of ‘the nature of a digital subscription’.

What Do I Get With Affiliate Bootcamp Course?

If you had done the Online Entrepreneur Certification (OEC) course, you will find some of the topics here being taught again. I know I did. I believe it was done intentionally because not everyone does the OEC course before doing this Affiliate Bootcamp course.

Kyle did try to vary these same topics a little. My advice is that if you find it is a topic you had already learned in the OEC course, then feel free to either go through it very quickly or skip it totally. Of course, most of the lessons here are new and different from the OEC course.

As mentioned earlier, there are 7 phases of training. Each phase has 10 lessons. Here they are in more details:

Phase 1 – Getting Your Business Rolling

In this phase, you will be taught how to build a strong foundation for your business. A good foundation is important because you are doing this business for the long term.

Lesson 1 – Getting Started!

This lesson is quite similar to the lesson 1 of the OEC course. The difference is that it is focused on the affiliate program of Wealthy Affiliate. That, after all, is what students who take this course wants to learn.

Kyle introduces himself and shared the details of the program, your affiliate link information, about affiliate marketing, and all the tools and features here at Wealthy Affiliate to help you promote the affiliate program as well as track sales and revenue.

Lesson 2 – Choosing Your Direction

The actual first lesson that is for your online business is about Branding. Your website is one of your branding efforts. You need to understand that as well as know your direction and target audience. How you will achieve all that? This lesson teaches you all that.

I teach about branding in the degree courses at the university. And I always emphasized the importance of branding upon my students. I do the same to my clients that I do consulting for.

With strong brand equity, your business can have a higher chance of success. And it is for the long term. You are doing your business for long term, right?

Lesson 3 – Building Your Website

When you are a Premium member, you can host up to 10 websites at Wealthy Affiliate. What this means is that you can host your websites on the web hosting platform known as SiteRubix. Of course, you only need to host 1 of the 10 websites for a start.

This lesson teaches you how to create your first business website. Also, what is a domain, what is a website name, and how to choose these two? Plus, how to choose a design for your website.

This is a very nice feature at Wealthy Affiliate. Web hosting service can cost hundreds of dollars a year. So, at $495 a year you are getting all these courses Plus web hosting. That is a real bargain.

Also, these are not the only tools and features you get for that price. There is also a free keyword research tool, And the support and community is so helpful.

On top of all that, every year, they are adding more tools and feature to help you succeed as an online entrepreneur.

In this lesson, there is a video that claims you can build your website in 30 seconds. It is rather misleading. But I do understand the concept of writing the title to attract clicks.

So, actually you create the website in the sense you create the basic setup. Not one with all the content. You need to add content later. When you are a premium member, you will get to see what I mean when you watch this video.

Lesson 4 – A Website Look Around

As I mentioned above, you are shown how to set up your basic website. In lesson 4, you now learn more about WordPress, the content management system that helps you manage your website.

You will be taught how to delete all the dummy content that came with the theme you chose. Also, you will be given a basic tour of the WordPress dashboard.

Lesson 5 – Activating Your Plugins

Now that you are familiar with your WordPress dashboard, you are introduced to plugins. What are plugins? How they can help you with your website? How to find, choose and activate your plugins. All these are taught in this lesson.

Lesson 6 – Getting Your Website Ready for SEO

Have you heard of Search Engine Optimization, also known as SEO? It is a digital marketing tactic to get your web pages ranked high on search results. Even on 1st pages of these search listings. It is a valuable skill to learn.

In lesson 6, you will be taught the fundamentals of good SEO tactics, to understand the long term opportunity with SEO, and how to set your website up for SEO?

While the text and images of the lesson helps, a video is better. And there is a video in this lesson that teaches you – Setting Up Your Website for Search Engines.

Lesson 7 – Your Initial Framework Of Content

There is a tool in Wealthy Affiliate that helps you to create content and get ranked on search engines. It is called SiteContent. It helps you to create posts and pages. In this lesson, you will learn how to create your About Me post and the Privacy Policy page. Also, how to create a menu?

By now, you will begin to see your business website start to take form. It is exciting. And there is still much to learn. And like most of the lessons, there is a video titled Your Initial Framework of Content to watch and learn.

Lesson 8 – Understanding the Keyword Research Process

Writing content is not enough to get your web pages ranked high. You need to understand what is a keyword? How to do keyword research? This skill will help you research and find keywords that can help your web pages to appear high on search results.

You will also learn about Jaaxy, a keyword research tool. As mentioned earlier, you get a Lite version when you join Wealthy Affiliate as a premium member. This tool can help you find the right keywords to use for your content.

Ever since I was introduced to Jaaxy, I have appreciated it very much. This fine keyword research tool has helped me get many of my web pages on 1st page of search results.

There is a video to help you learn all you need to know about keywords and keyword research. It is titled Keyword Mastery, Keywords Are the Foundation of Your Success.

Lesson 9 – Creating Thoughtful, Insightful Reviews

You learn what are the Key Elements to being a trustworthy and authorative website. And they teach you how to write thoughtful and insightful reviews to achieve that.

There is a lesson on the 4 Principles to a Great Review. Do not miss the opportunity to learn that. This lesson also includes how to choose a winning title for your review. And suggests a format and layout for a review.

Contrary to what many say on the Internet, the training at Wealthy Affiliate do not insist you do their affiliate program only. This lesson is evidence of that.

You will be taught that there are many affiliate programs out there. And you can earn from them, too.

In fact, there is a tool on the left side menu of your Wealthy Affiliate dashboard where you can search and find affiliate program suitable for your particular niche.

Lesson 10 – The Exciting Journey Has Begun

The last lesson in Phase 1 is a summary of all you have learned so far. There is some encouragement from Kyle to boost your morale, and have you continue to grow your business. He also shares the potential of online businesses to make money online.

While this is a nice touch to round up phase 1, I did notice that most of their phases or levels are ended with very little content that is of good value. That is, most lessons 10 are simply summaries and motivation messages.

I mean, it is nice to get a summary and motivation. But they could at least add another skill or knowledge to learn for lesson 10. Then round off with that summary and encouragement. Would have been much better.

Phase 2 – Content, Keywords and Conversions

In Phase 2, you are going to learn the value of content on your business website, and how to create it. There is a big difference between mere content and quality content. You will find out how to create good quality content that will make your website successful.

Lesson 1 – Your Own Domain is Your Brand

Continuing your learning about branding, this lesson teaches you about your domain. It is your virtual estate and you must own it. As such, you will be taught how to buy your own domain.

In my consulting work, the first thing I always check with a client is whether they are owners of their online assets. One of these valued assets if the domain.

You will be surprised how many business people are not aware of the importance to be the domain owner. I have many cases where I had to help my clients to reclaim ownership of their domains.

Lesson 2 – Creating Readable Content that Converts

You need to select the right keyword and have good content architecture on your web pages. If your web page is poorly organized and designed, your readers will not stay for long. There are 6 points you will learn to make your content readable for your visitors.

This is a very important skill to learn. The reason is because high bounce rates can cause your web pages to suffer in search rankings.

In 2020, a high bounce rate is 70% and higher. The average bounce rate is 41% to 55%. On my website here, Passive Online Revenue, the average bounce rate is as low as 7.59%.

I am able to achieve such a low bounce rate for this website because I what I learned at Wealthy Affiliate. Also, a low bounce rate means that your readers are interested in your content. This is a higher opportunity to convert them into customers.

Lesson 3 – Properly Using Affiliate Links

There is a proper way to use affiliate links. This is so that you do not get into trouble on other platforms like Facebook, Pinterest or any others. So, here you will learn how to do affiliate links properly using a very effective plugin.

Lesson 4 – Understanding Keywords & A Day of Selling

More knowledge to gain about keywords and keyword research. This lesson includes a valuable discussion about black hat tactics with keywords. Then more ways to do keyword research, and how to write naturally.

Lesson 5 – Take a break, catch up

It is Lesson 5, and if you have been doing one lesson a day, it would have been day 5 of this course. As such, Kyle suggests taking a break. Especially after all the hard work done in the past 4 lessons. Also, he writes a motivational message.

When I first attended this course, I was a little surprised and delighted that there is a scheduled break. It was ideal for those who were behind in the tasks of lessons 1 to 4.

But, as you will soon discover, all lessons 5 are suggestions of taking a break or catching up with the work required. And I felt the curriculum could have been better in this aspect.

More knowledge and teaching of a skill could have been taught. As for suggesting a break, he could always mention it at the end of lesson 5. I believe this will add more value to this course.

Lesson 6 – Creating Reviews and Using Targeted Keywords

After the so-called break, lesson 6 continues to help you refine your creation of content. The focus is on reviews and why they are important for your business? A plus point is you get to learn how to create a template for your reviews. A template / format for reviews is also offered.

This is, to me, so valuable. Many people find writing not easy. Where to start? What to write? How to end? And a template is really appreciated and helpful.

I have personally found this template that they taught to be very useful. Most of the reviews on this website are written based on the template.

Of course, as time goes by, as I become more proficient in writing a review, I improved upon it.

Lesson 7 – Enhancing Your Website “Experience”

You have created your website and added content. Now, it is time to clean up and optimize the organization of your website. For example, learn how to create a drop down menu and how to organize your side bars.

User experience on a website is very essential. It is a factor that I always consider of the utmost importance. When a visitor to your website enjoys a good user experience, they will tend to stay longer and explore your site more. The extended amount of time spent can be used to convert them into customers.

Lesson 8 – Building MORE Content Through Internal Links

What are internal links? and how to do it correctly? This lesson teaches you this vital knowledge. Plus, you learn how to create content ideas from your existing page?

Internal linking has always been a very vital part of doing SEO. Today, it is even more crucial to learn how to do it. It can help your web pages rank high on search results.

Lesson 9 – Write a Review and Share It

Comments can also help your web pages gain higher positions on search results. On Wealthy Affiliate, there is the SiteComment tool that you can use to acquire more good and quality comments. Take this lesson to learn how and why more comments can increase your web pages’ search rankings.

Lesson 10 – Offering Bonuses the Easy WA

You are doing the Affiliate Bootcamp because you would like to be a Wealthy Affiliate affliate. In this lesson, Kyle teaches you a tactic to get more referrals, and eventually more sales. And that is to offer a bonus.

But it is not easy to do so. What kind of bonus can you give? How to create a bonus that people will want? This lesson lets you in on a secret that all Premium members are privy to – to help you easily create and offer a bonus for your prospects.

This is a goldmine. When you learn this, you will be surprised how easy it is to offer a bonus to your prospects with Wealthy Affiliate.

Phase 3 – Giving Your Site Social Value

Today, a business needs to do social media marketing to achieve success. One of the ways is to enable the valuable content on a website to be shared easily across social media platforms. This phase teaches you how to do that, and more.

Lesson 1 – Making Your Site Social With Plugins

You have created quality content, and driven visitors to your web pages. Next, you must enable these visitors to share your content to others. This lesson teaches you how to set up the social sharing plugin, and make your web pages easy to share.

You have seen these social share buttons on many websites. I have them here too on Passive Online Revenue. They are really useful and helpful when readers would like to share an article or review with their friends. This can translate into more traffic being driven to your websites.

Lesson 2 – Making Your Social Profiles Brand Friendly

You have social presence on Facebook, Twitter, and other social platform. In this lesson, you get to find out how to update your social profile as well as include a link to your website. There are examples of doing this on Facebook and Twitter.

Always find ways to build brand equity. It will serve you in the long run for your business success. This lesson will help you achieve doing that; that is build brand equity.

Lesson 3 – How to Create Socially Engaging Content

How do you create content such that people want to share it on social media? This knowledge is shared here in Lesson 3.

It is one thing to create content. Another to create quality content. And another level to create content that has high quality that people love to share. I have found this lesson extremely useful.

When people share your content on social media, you gain brand awareness. Again, this will increase traffic to your website. And traffic is opportunity to convert into customers for sales and revenue.

Lesson 4 – Social Waste Vs. Productivity

Many of us are guilty of this – spending too much time on social media. In this lesson, you will get tips on how to be productive on social media; for example setting goals, which tasks to complete first, and more.

I used to think that the more time I spend on social media would mean that I am being active at social media marketing. And of course, I also thought I am doing a good job at engaging with my audience.

But over time, I realize that it did not necessarily translate into sales and revenue. These tips have taught me to be better at social media marketing. Especially to be more productive.

Lesson 5 – Take a social hiatus!

Time to take a break again or catch up with tasks not completed from lessons 1 to 4.

Do you see what I mean? An entire lesson of nothing but just telling you to take a break. Come on, Kyle. You can do better than this.

There is so much to learn about social media marketing. For example, how about a lesson on TikTok?

Lesson 6 – Power Writing Gone Wild!

This is a fun lesson. You will be tested on your writing speed. But hold on. There are some tips on how to write faster and yet not lose content quality. All in this lesson 6.

Lesson 7 – Adding Google Analytics to Your Site

As your SEO and social media marketing efforts are driving more traffic to your website, it is time to capture and study the data. You will be introduced to Google Analytics and how to understand what the data is all about.

It is very good to learn Google Analytics. This free tool has helped me understand more about traffic to my websites, where the traffic comes from, what keywords people used to find my websites, and so much more useful information. As an online entrepreneur, you must learn how to use Google Analytics.

Lesson 8 – Leveraging the Jaaxy Affiliate Program

Remember Jaaxy, the keyword research tool? There is also an affiliate program for that. This lesson teaches you how to be an affiliate for that program.

As I mentioned before, Jaaxy is indeed a powerful keyword research tool. I do find many online entrepreneurs and digital marketers will benefit from using it. I highly recommend you become an affiliate for this program.

Lesson 9 – Making Promotional Use of Your Sidebar

All about WordPress widgets, and how to add them to your sidebar. The widgets can be banners, images or any types of media.

In the past, I have seen these images, ads and many other snippets on a website’s sidebar. And I wondered how to do that for my websites. As you can see on this very same review, this lesson has helped me to get that done. It can do the same for you.

Lesson 10 – Build, Build, and BUILD!

A summary of the entire Phase 3 with a message of encouragement. Then a challenge to build your website before you start Phase 4.

Again, another summary lesson. This could easily have been another lesson filled with useful knowledge or skill to be taught.

Phase 4 – Get Visual, Get Aesthetic, Get a Brand Through Media

As you continue to grow your website by adding content, you should consider the aesthetics of it. It will improve the user experience for your visitors. In Phase 4, you will learn how to do that by adding visuals such as images and videos.

Lesson 1 – Introduction to Website Design

This is Design 101. The lesson will cover website design and aesthetics. You will understand how to use images, graphics, charts, diagrams and videos to make your web pages more pleasing to the eye.

I have often received good comments and even praise for the design and aesthetics of my websites. With a design that is aesthetically pleasing, your visitors will enjoy staying longer on your website.

When they stay longer, there is lower bounce rate and higher average page sessions. This is good for SEO.

Plus, staying longer means your visitors are interested, and you have the opportunity to convert them into customers.

Lesson 2 – An Image Says a THOUSAND things

You will learn about the power of Pinterest. Also, how to create a Pinterest account, how to create a blog post and pin it to your Pinterest boards.

Pinterest is becoming a powerful social media marketing force. This is because visual search and marketing is on the rise. More and more people are viewing images and videos before reading text. This is a good lesson to do.

Lesson 3 – Leveraging Wealthy Affiliate Videos for conversions

Shy to create a video and be featured on it? Wealthy Affiliate has a solution for you. There are a lot of videos on this platform. This lesson shows you how to use these videos to promote Wealthy Affiliate as an affiliate.

Internet users are consuming video at a high rate and amount. People prefer to watch a video first. And if interested, they may watch more videos or read an article.

And Wealthy Affiliate has a large library of videos that you can use to promote this product. So, do not miss out on this video marketing opportunity.

Lesson 4 – Creating Logos & Images

By now, you might consider a logo for your brand. This lesson shows you how to create one as well as free resources to use should you need to create a logo on a budget. There is also a tip on how to create those text-based images.

It is not easy to create a logo. I know. I have gone through this process many times with my many businesses. My advice is not to overthink it. You can always start with a simple logo. And update as time goes by.

Lesson 5 – Give yourself a break!

Another ‘lesson’ where you are told to take a break or catch upu on your tasks.

I have already said what I think of these filler lessons. Enough said.

Lesson 6 – Creating an Effective Jaaxy Review

In Phase 3 you learned how to join as a Jaaxy affiliate. Here, you are guided on how to do a powerful Jaaxy review.

I have found this to be a very useful lesson. When I first started Passive Online Revenue, I did plan to do a Jaaxy review. But was not sure how to do it. This lesson helped me create and complete that review.

Lesson 7 – Research Jaaxy Keywords, Then Show & Tell

After you have completed the Jaaxy review, it is time to add a post about keyword research. You are guided on how to target this topic using Jaaxy.

Lesson 8 – Pinning Habits Lead to Pinterest Power

In an earlier lesson, you were introduced to the power of Pinterest. In lesson 8, you will start to pin and take advantage of Pinterest to drive traffic to your website.

Lesson 9 – Creating Your Own Videos

Video is the future of digital marketing. In fact, it may be now. As such, it is good to learn how to create your own videos and upload them to platforms like YouTube. To convince you, there are 5 benefits of using video

I know of many of my peers, online entrepreneurs, who have achieved business success when they started doing videos. You should consider this, too.

There is a video training in this lesson. It teaches you how to create your own videos.

Lesson 10 – A Lesson on Customer Perspective

To be able to sell to your target audience, you must understand them. Get into their heads. Get them to like you and trust you. This lesson explains how to achieve this.

Now, this is more like it. Instead of just a summary, they have actually created a lesson that is of great value. Well done.

And this topic – about understanding your customer is so important. When you know what your customer needs and thinks, you can sell better.

Phase 5 – Knowing Your Audiences & Catapulting Your Referrals

It is important to know who is your target audience. This is one of the topics covered in this phase. Also taught is how to improve your skills at converting a visitor into a customer.

As mentioned earlier, it is important to know your audience. I am so glad there is an entire phase dedicated to helping students learn about this and how to do it so that you can achieve more sales and revenue.

Lesson 1 – Creating Content With INTENT

Writing is not an easy task. At the same time, because this is your business, you must learn how to write with the right intent. Lesson 1 starts your phase 5 with this powerful knowledge that can help you convert visitors into customers.

In the early days of my career, I was a copywriter at one point. And I can share with you that copywriting is not an easy job. You have to be able to write in such a way that your words can convince people to take action and buy.

Plus, in today’s context, especially because of social media, you must do it with word economy. And in as short a time as possible. See the value of this lesson 1?

Lesson 2 – Getting Your Comments to Convert!

There are hidden opportunities in comments left by visitors. What are they and how to identify them? You will learn this useful skill, and also how to encourage more comments.

Lesson 3 – Video, a HUGE Source of Traffic

I must acknowledge that this is a really cool tool. Wealthy Affiliate has a sign up form where you can customize so that you can appear on the page, and greet visitors who have arrived there. It does help to increase sign ups, which can lead to sales and revenue for you.

Lesson 7 – Incorporating Your Custom Sign-up Forms into Your Website

Now that you have created your custom sign-up form, you can incorporate it into your website. This lesson shows you how?
